Middle School Dynasty Under Review After Grade Six Cougars Extend Streak to 23 Games
Local middle school athletics are facing unexpected scrutiny after the Northern Pines Grade Six Cougars extended their winning streak to 23 games, raising questions about the eligibility of star forward Brayden “Moose” Mallory.
Mallory, who has reportedly been in Grade Six for four consecutive years, delivered another dominant performance in last night’s win over St. Abigail’s, recording 6 goals, 2 assists, and 23 penalty minutes. Officials also noted what they described as “a concerning amount of facial hair.”
Despite the growing controversy, supporters say Mallory remains an important presence in the Cougars’ locker room. Teammates credit him with bringing leadership, maturity, and, according to one source, his own car.

The school says Mallory remains academically committed, particularly in the areas of gym and lunch.
League officials are now reviewing his eligibility as the Cougars’ historic run continues. For now, the team remains undefeated, though the record may be subject to academic review.
Mallory’s current stat line includes 22 goals, 18 assists, 121 penalty minutes, and 3 parental complaints.
A remarkable achievement — pending paperwork.
